Volunteers
Many people are committed to the success of the event.
Inhabitants of Chamonix and surrounding area, physiotherapists or osteopaths from all over France are brought together by the Mont-Blanc Marathon races.
We are very pleased that you wish to join the large family of volunteers of our organization.
registrations will open on march the 1st of 2023
By becoming a volunteer on the Mont-Blanc Marathon you will join a team known for its excellence and loyalty to this race.
The management of this great weekend of running couldn’t be done without the help of volunteers. Indeed, 500 volunteers are involved every year for setting up of these races.

Marking | Working in pair on a part of the trail, you will mark the route with varioius tags in order for runners to follow the right path during the race. Opening | In order to check if the marking is well done, you leave a few hours before the race begins and control a part of the route. Closing | You leave on the watershed et have a role of rearguard. Direct | On specific places of the route, where marking is not enough, you make sure to indicate the right way to runners. Day time | At different times and places, refueling points are mostly accessible by car or cable car. Night time | At le Montenvers and Plan de l’Aiguille, you go up, set up the refueiling point and give refreshment to runners. You sleep at the hut so make sur to have warm clothes and a sleeping bag. Shuttles | In order to restrict the amount of cars, we set up shuttles so friends and family can go and cheer their runners on many refueling points. Nano time check | Placed at strategic points, mostly in the mountains, you have a nano remote control in order to “beep” every runner coming through your spot. Transport minivans and 4×4 | You are driving mini vans to get the runners who stopped in order to bring them back to a public transportation point. F.A.Q.
Dorm-style accommodation is available within the limits of available places, prioritising volunteers who are involved for several days in the event.
For example: a volunteer working 4 days will be given priority over a volunteer who is only working 2 days.
A lunch to is given by the organisation at the PC course if the assignement covers meal times.
You will be offered the official marathon cap and t-shirt.
After registering as a volunteer, you will receive an e-mail containing your job description and the information necessary for a great volunteer experience.
We will come back to you quickly with all the informations. As soon as you are assigned to a job, you will receive an e-mail with every details about your assignement.
In case of problems during your mission you can contact your head volunteer. This number will be provided to you directly with your job description.

On the job description that will be sent to you, you will have a list of the necessary. We still recommend that you have a suitable outfit, a water bottle, a cap and a rain coat depending on the weather.
